Our neighbour 'doggy-sat' our dog while we were away. I made a simple cake to thank them.
It's tiresome trying to replicate real life characters. I made fondant dogs to replicate those real life dogs. Unfortunately, both dogs look so plain. Theirs is a larger brown dog and ours is a small black dog. Yes, both are completely toneless, just one colour per dog! Sigh!

Children's Favourite Characters
This is going to be a longer post than usual as I'm posting about my son's birthday cake.

Choo Choo!
Yes, I know it's corny to describe a train as 'choo choo' but this post is after all about a cake for a 1 year old boy. And most people teach kids that trains are choo choo trains. Do trains still make the choo choo sound now that it's running on electricity (LRT/Komuter) or diesel (KTM Berhad)?
Anyway, a client recently ordered this cake for her son's one year old birthday party.

Fondant Gymnast
My sister recently ordered 60 cupcakes for my niece's birthday. Since my niece is into gymrama, I made a fondant gymnast doing a perfect split on the cupcake. And, yes, of course my sister got a huge discount. : )
There are just 24 gymnast here. I delivered the rest the day before and didn't manage to take a photo.

Happy Birthday Dad and Mum!
I tried a new recipe; carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. As you can clearly see, I'm not that skilled in frosting cakes yet. I usually make unfrosted cakes or fondant covered cakes.
Anyway, my dad's hobby is gardening. He is actually very good in growing roses. Why did I make Fred Flintstone to represent dad? Hee! Hee! I can't tell, it's a family joke.
My mum's favorite hobby is watching ...... ASTRO! Notice the Astro controller firmly in her hand?! She has Marge Simpson's hairstyle (not so extreme though) and she loves wearing pants so unfortunately, it looks a little bit like a man. I had to include some flowers to highlight that it's actually a woman.

Father's Day Cake

In conjunction with the Alice in Wonderland movie, I custom made some Alice in Wonderland themed cupcakes for a client.. I don't like Tim Burton's version so these cupcakes are based on the Alice In Wonderland cartoon that I watched growing up. (Shows you how old I am right?)

Happy Full Moon
A grand celebration was held for my nephew's full moon.
The cake is my gift to my brother and sister-in-law, so I made a Gift Box Cake. It is a 6 inch "So Sugee Me, I'm Good" cake stacked on top of a two layer 9 inch "How Marbelous" cake.
